As a student, he was a varsity baseball player for four years and played shortstop for three years.
He won a state championship in 1956 and 1957.
He was voted team captain for the Tigers in his senior year amongst his peers.
After his college career, he came back to the parish where he coached football and baseball at Hahnville for thirty years.
