A new exam room designed to meet the needs of the St. Charles Parish community’s smallest residents is now available at Luling’s St. Charles Parish Hospital.
Designed to make children feel at ease and calm in a hospital environment, the room is sea-themed and features colorful aquatic graphics, search and find activities and a child-sized exam table. The colors used in the room were chosen with the intention to create a soothing and peaceful environment for when pediatric patients are brought to the ED for medical attention.
The hospital held a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 29 to officially open the room. The equipment and design were made possible by the generosity of the United Way of St. Charles.
“Medical procedures and the hospital, especially the Emergency Department, can be scary for children,” Keith Dacus, hospital chief executive officer, said. “We hope the pediatric exam room offers comfort during their visit. We are thankful to the United Way of St. Charles for helping bring our vision to reality.”
