41st annual Little Red Church Food and Fun Festival takes place this weekend

Food, carnival rides, game booths, school performances, live bands and more await patrons this weekend at the 41st annual Little Red Church Food and Fun Festival.

“It’s always a good time,” Carolyn Teabout, a St. Charles Borromeo Church parishioner who helps to organize the fair, said. “Food, fun and family … you’ll find a lot of that on our grounds. The fair brings our comm together in a way that doesn’t happen very often … there’s just that feeling of a community that loves each other.”

The festival will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the grounds of St. Charles Borromeo Church, located at 13396 River Road in Destrehan.

The theme of this year’s fair is “Celebrating 300 Years of Food, Fun & Family.” On Friday the fair will be open from 6 to 10 p.m., and on Saturday festivities will span from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Sunday the fair will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Live bands will take the stage all weekend. On Friday Contra Flow will play from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. On Saturday Terry & the Zydeco Bad Boys will take the stage from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and Category 6 will play from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
