Woman arrested after firing gun, shattering window in St. Rose

A New Orleans woman was arrested recently after allegedly stealing a firearm from a friend and St. Rose resident and firing it outside the latter’s home, apparently shattering the window of a neighbor in the process.

Alasia Finley, 19, of 4444 Francis Drive in New Orleans, was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, theft of a firearm, illegal use of weapons and aggravated criminal damage to property. The aggravated damage, assault and theft charges are felonies.

According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, Finley allegedly stole a handgun and fired it outside her acquaintance’s East Club Drive residence. The resident then alerted police to the incident.  Soon thereafter, a neighbor discovered the shattered window, believed to have been caused when the weapon was fired.

Finley is being held at Nelson Coleman Correctional Center on a bond of $12,500.
