Beers and belly laughs are on the menu this weekend at German Coast Beer Company as DJ Rhett and The Couyons of Comedy bring the second season of their comedy tour to Luling.
The Couyons of Comedy are led by headliner DJ Rhett, known as The Cajun King of Chaos. Rhett, a South Louisiana native, has amassed a loyal following of more than 2 million people across social media platforms, including Facebook, TikTok and Instagram. During shows, Rhett blends crowd engagement with a humorous look at life through a Cajun lens. The combination has found an audience in the area: Last season, The Couyons sold out three separate shows at German Coast.
For German Coast, the show is also part of a broader effort to give residents more reasons to enjoy entertainment and other activities close to home. Zeringue said events like this introduce the brewery to visitors who might not otherwise stop in, while giving them a reason to return.
German Coast Beer Company owner June Zeringue said one of her favorite things about owning the brewery is seeing the smiles on people’s faces and hearing the laughter generated by events such as The Couyons of Comedy tour.
“When we host these events, it brings people that may not usually stop in at the brewery,” she said. “But once they are in the door, they always say they are coming back — and they do. It feels amazing that the community continues to embrace new things … whether it is all the new beers we release, new food events and entertainment events like this comedy show. It shows that people in our area really are looking for local activities and are willing to stay local.”
Saturday night’s Couyons of Comedy show will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. at German Coast Beer Company, 13899 River Road, Suite B, in Luling. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the general admission show. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at www.couyonsofcomedy.com.
