Oleta Mae Smith Verdin entered into eternal rest on October 10, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Ellis Verdin, Sr. Mother of Linda Wait (Gary), David Verdin (Lupe), Daniel Verdin (Angela), Glenn Verdin (Shellie), and the late Randy Verdin (Cindy). Grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late L.T. Smith and Etta Weeks Smith. Sister of Etta Dean Long, and the late Bessie Jean Beck, Mary Louise Williams, and Norman Smith. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Age 92 years, a native of Turnersville, TX and resident of Luling, LA. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Monday, October 19, 2026 at 10 AM. Interment St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Luling, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until service time.
