The Des Allemands and Bayou Gauche Catfish Fishing Rodeo will be held Oct. 12 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the public boat launch and Somme’s Boat Launch, both in Des Allemands, and Fisherman’s Wharf in Bayou Gauche.
Bank fishing will be held for children age 16 and under for $10 and adults for $15. Boat fishing with two people per boat will be $40. Awards will be given for largest fish and most weight. Demonstrations will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Somme’s Boat Launch. Lunch is available at St. Gertrude Community Center. Proceeds will be benefit the Des Allemands Bayou Gauche Paradis Museum Society.
