Keith M. Poche’, 73, a native of Paradis and a resident of Thibodaux, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2026 while surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his dear wife of 52 years, Duenna Gaubert Poche’; children, Erika Poche’ Rodrigue, Magen Poche’ Mathias (Michael), Emily Poche’ Kraemer (Jacob), and Vincent Paul Poche’ (Nehali); grandchildren, Emma Grace Rodrigue, Lilyana Marie Kraemer, and Johnathan Daniel Mathias; sister, Dianne Poche’ Gaubert; aunt, Beatrice “Bea” Boyer; and many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonce “Bill” Poche’ and Pearl Cheramie Poche’; sisters, Sherril Poche’ Phillips and Lisa Poche’ Tobin; brother-in-law, Richard Anthony Gaubert; and in-laws, Denis Vincent Gaubert and Barbara Zeringue Gaubert.
Keith was a mechanical draftsman at Shell Oil in Norco, LA before transferring to the Cat Cracker. He then attended Nicholls State University, completing an Associates Degree in Nursing. After working as a Registered Nurse for 21 years, Keith attended the University of North Dakota Medical School to complete a degree as a Physician’s Assistant. He worked as a PA-C with Dr. Keith Landry in Paincourtville before employment at the VA Clinic in Houma for 12 years. As a family, we enjoyed fishing at our camp in Leeville. Keith was a devoted family man and loved his wife of 52 years, his children, grandchildren, sister, Dianne, and Aunt Bea, as well as the family dog, Trouper.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Thibodaux Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the Memorial Service at 12:00 pm.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Thibodaux Regional, Fresenius Dialysis Center, and St. Joseph Hospice for their dedication, care, and compassion.
