German Coast Farmers’ Market celebrates 7 years in Destrehan

DESTREHAN – The German Coast Farmers’ Market celebrates its 7th anniversary on Saturday, June 13 at its East Bank location at Ormond Plantation on River Road in Destrehan.

Attractions slated for this special celebration includes the “Taste of the Season” – pony rides, face painting, music by Blanch Newsome and door prizes.

Fresh produce including peaches, blueberries, creole tomatoes, squash, corn and cucumbers are available each Saturday at the market.

Other products available are fresh seafood, rotisserie meats, fresh meats, sausage, hogshead cheese, wine, jellies, dairy products, Italian pastries, bread, ready-to-eat meals, plants, gourmet rice, soy candles and goat milk lotion and soaps.

Every Wednesday, the West Bank market is open in the St. Charles Plaza located on Highway 90 in Luling from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The arts & craft market addition will begin on June 24 and continue on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
