HAHNVILLE – St. Charles Parish will host a Memorial Day ceremony Saturday, 11 a.m. to noon, at the St. Charles Courthouse, 15045 River Road, Hahnville.
Charles Cancienne of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars is organizing the ceremony, which will feature presentation of colors by the Hahnville High School ROTC, a 21-gun salute by the United Veterans League, the playing of taps, and patriotic singing by local resident Penny Matherne.
Speakers are Parish President V.J. St. Pierre, veteran Sonny Savoie and former Parish President Albert Laque. Local veterans and other residents are encouraged to attend. For information, call Cancienne at (985) 758-7716.
