Walt was preceded in death by his father, Walter, his mother, Alice, his sister, Susan Morrison Pechacek and brothers-in-law, Larry Pechacek and Morgan Farnum.  He is survived by his wife Marty, his three children Shannon (Mike Lothringer), Matt (Denise) and Kelly Morrison, his brother Dr. J. Scott Morrison (Judy), his sister-in-law Sally Farnum, seven grandchildren Lee and Jeremy (Savannah) Lothringer, Kaitlin and Olivia Morrison, and Rachel, Kyle, and Melissa Hansen, and four great-grandchildren Zachary, Nicholas, Jeremy, Jr., and Lawson, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Walt was born February 19, 1933, to Walter (Speedy) and Alice (Meyer) Morrison in Oklahoma City, OK.  He grew up in the small town of Prague, Oklahoma, loved sports, and was valedictorian of his graduating class at Prague High School.  Walt earned Chemical Engineering undergraduate and graduate degrees from Oklahoma University in Norman, OK where he played basketball, was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and met his future wife, Marty.  On August 18, 1956, Walt and Marty married and moved to Victoria, TX where Walt began his 30-year career with Union Carbide in Seadrift, TX and they welcomed three children, Shannon, Matt, and Kelly.  In 1972 when he moved his family to Luling, LA, he took up golf, mixed in with attending Saints games and enjoying the great people, great food and good times of the surrounding Luling and New Orleans area.  At the annual Morrison reunion at Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma, Walt played golf with his dad, double nine dominoes with all comers and Hearts with the over-12’s in the evening.  He was competitive, but fair, and loved a good game of any kind.  After his retirement in 1986, Walt and Marty took up traveling in their camper and ventured across the USA and Canada, even renting an RV for an adventure in New Zealand, seeing the sights, visiting family, making new friends, and attending as many grandkid events and activities as they could.  In 2012, after one too many hurricane evacuations and to be close to family, they moved to The Woodlands, TX, where Marty resides still.

Walt was reliable, dedicated, and disciplined, all traits that helped him raise his family, succeed in his career, and overcome physical adversity.  He was a big man (6’10”) with a big heart who never said a bad word about anyone.  He always gave a warm welcome and had time for a chat.   He loved his family and supported them in every way possible.

A service will be held June 12, 2021, at 11 A.M. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3901 South Panther Creek Dr., The Woodlands, 77381.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Walt’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Haynie Public Library, ATTN: Debbie, 4308 NBU, Prague, OK 74864.
