Cynthia Daigle

Cynthia Daigle was a loving, creative, and strong wife, mother, and grandmother. After a valiant 6 and a half year battle with cancer, she went home to be with the Lord in full.

She was born to Edward and Goalda Brookman in November of 1947. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronnie Daigle, their 2 children Gina Daigle and Reed Daigle (with his wife Seiko), and five grandchildren: Jonathan Dockins, Seth Quattlebaum, Emma Quattlebaum, Sofie Daigle, and Alexander Daigle. She is also survived by step-mother Joyce Brookman, her 4 sisters Dena Trobaugh, Karen Bosch, Virginia Readion, Janice Hadley, and her brother, Charles Brookman. Predeceasing her were her mother Goalda Brookman, daughter Christa Daigle, father Edward Brookman, and brother Edward Brookman Jr.

Cynthia was an accomplished artist, an amazing cook, and an all around active person. She participated in everything from multiple sports as a teenager, to teaching Art lessons, to becoming President of the Crescent City Glass Club, to cooking for the homeless, to becoming a Master Gardener, among many more. Even after being diagnosed, every time you passed her house, she was working in her yard or cutting her grass. She always loved being the hostess of parties and church functions. She enjoyed hanging with her “ladies” and held a widows luncheon on occasion. Even though she enjoyed being host to others, she was always very focused on her family, and loved them very much. Her cooking was her love language, and it had everyone begging for her gumbo and chicken stew. She was from the 9th ward, you could certainly hear it, and she was proud of being a New Orleanian.

She loved the Lord, and she loved her family. Her love for her husband, children, and grandchildren always shone through. And although she never fully realized how much her love, cooking, and giving spirit touched those around her, it surely shone through to all of her family, friends, and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 9am until 11am with a service beginning at 10am. It will be at Life Church Assembly of God at 13271 Hwy 90, Boutte, LA 70039.
