Edward Wayne Robinson

Edward Wayne Robinson passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015. He joins his loving wife, Phyllis Gilmore Robinson in Heaven.

He is survived by his children: Pamela Ramsay of Loranger, La., Nanette Cheatham of Baton Rouge, La. and Robert Wayne Robinson of Denver, Colo. His siblings: Earl Robinson of Walton,W.V., Sydney Ray Robinson (Sue) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Denzil Robinson and Marie Hinkle of Charleston, W.V. Grandchildren: Jeremy Ramsay (Lonette) of Prescott, Wisc., Jillian Ramsay of Loranger, La., Daniel Cheatham (Cristen) of Denham Springs, La., Dawn Lemieux (Donald) of Mobile, Ala. Great grandchildren: Cayne and Ali Grace Ramsay of Prescott, Wisc., Liam and Luke Lemieux of Mobile and two great grand-babies arriving later this year.

He is preceded in death by his parents: William Herman and Ella Jane Nida Robinson, brothers: James, Olis, and W.H. Robinson, and sister Murl Hays.

Wayne was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran of the USS California and a Kamikaze attack survivor. He served as a deputy for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s office and served on the Luling Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Luling, a member of Union Carbide for over 40 years, VFW member and a member of the U.S. Naval Memorial.

Visitation was held at the First Baptist Church in Luling on July 14 followed by service and interment at St. Charles Cemetery, also in Luling.
