Myrtle Dufrene Naquin

Myrtle Dufrene Naquin, 91, a native and resident of Des Allemands passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015.

Visitation was held July 18, 2015 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands. A Mass of Christian Burial was held with burial that followed in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Stanford Naquin; daughters, Stephanie Morgan and husband Steven, Jody Orgeron and husband Alan; sister, Nola Spiess; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitney J. Naquin; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Gros Naquin; parents W.E. Dufrene and Agnes Trauth Dufrene; brothers, Landry, Albert, Johnny, Martin, Clarence, Jesse and Stanley Dufrene; sisters, Sidonia Savoie, Alverta Matherne and Leona Roger.

Myrtle was a member of St. Gertrude Ladies Altar Society, Des Allemands Homemakers, American Legion Aides. She was a Religion teacher at St. Gertrude who enjoyed flowers and gardening.

She was also Queen of Des Allemands Mardi Gras and Granny Queen of Des Allemands Catfish Festival in 2012.Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
