John “Johnny” Henry Nolting IV

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John “Johnny” Henry Nolting IV age 61. John passed in the early morning hours of April 30 2017 in Metairie, La. John was the first born son of John Nolting III and Edwina Nolting (Fuhrmann), born on Feb. 18, 1956 in Metairie. John grew up in Kenner, La., with his siblings and childhood friends, graduated from Bonnabel High School in 1974, and attended LSU.

John married Johanna Cannata on May 19, 1977, settled in Luling and raised his family in Monsanto Park. He worked for American Cyanamid (Cytec) as an operator engineer for over 30 years and provided his family with a home at “219 Monsanto” in Luling. John often recounted that these were the best years of his life, and the home and life he provided his family, were of his proudest achievements.

John was an avid outdoorsman who spent his free time hunting in Kentwood, La., fishing in Cocodrie, La. and Pier 90, and sitting outside watching storms roll in. John’s children fondly remember their childhood home and countless hunting, camping and fishing trips with their dad. So many of John’s friends say “He was the best and truest friend they ever had” and he will be sorely missed by all that loved him. It is a great comfort to know that John is finally at peace.

John was preceded in death by his father John Nolting III and is survived by his mother Edwina Nolting, sister Nelda Price, brother Douglas Nolting, daughter Jena Austin, son-in-law Blake Austin, son John Nolting V, daughter-in-law Cherie Hinton, daughter Nancy Folglesong, son-in-law Allen Foglesong, daughter Michelle Breaux, son-in-law Aaron Breaux, nine grandchildren, many relatives and friends.
