Gale L. Lasher, age 82, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2009 at the East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie. He retired as a steel worker with U. S. Steel Irvin Works after 40 years.
A United States Veteran in the U. S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by one daughter, Janice Parkhill and her husband, Dan of Destrehan. One brother, Dale Lasher and his wife, Jean of Kittanning, Pa. Sister, Nellie Wolfe of Adrian, Pa. Two grandchildren, Carrie Leaumont and her husband, Brian; Colin Parkhill. A number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmela Manfred Lasher; parents, Bryan Lasher and Millie Fair. Sister, Thelma Crawford and grandson, Bryan Lasher Parkhill.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 22 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville, Pa. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, May 23 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Adrian with Military Honors at St. Mark’s Cemetery. Rev. Arlyn Eisenbrandt was the officiant.
