Joseph I. “Knock A Bout” Bourgeois

Joseph I. “Knock A Bout” Bourgeois entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the age of 97. He was married to his late and loving wife Marie Louise Landeche Bourgeois for 61 years. He is survived by sons: Joseph I. Jr. (Linda), Carl (Jan), Deryle (Jessica), Keith (Pam), Terry (Barbara), Wayne (Charlotte), and David Bourgeois (Shana); daughters: Linda Boudreaux (Gerald), Elaine Tallman (Paul), Debbie Page (Mike), and Sharon Metrejean (Duffy); also 30 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents: Solend Bourgeois and Marie Julie Hotard Bourgeois; one brother Lester Bourgeois and two sisters: Hazel Madere and Mildred Boudoin.

Besides dancing, “Knock” loved his cows, chickens and especially his garden, which he worked until the very end. He worked at Shell for 37 years until his retirement, served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII, and was a longtime member of the American Legion.

The family would like to thank Egan Hospice for their care and compassion during this time.

Visitation was held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Luling.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held followed by interment at St. Charles Mausoleum in Luling.
