Edward Joseph “Ed” Dufrene, 62, native of Paradis passed away on March 15 in Baytown, Texas, by the waters that he loved.
Dufrene is survived by his mother, Anna Hymel Dufrene; children: Michelle Dufrene Barrett (Troy), Regina Dufrene, Hannah Dufrene (Darold) and Jonathan Dufrene (Claudia); 11 grandchildren and a great grandson.
He is survived by siblings Derril Dufrene, Denise Dufrene, Lennie Dufrene and Valerie Dufrene Englade.
Dufrene retired from Union Carbide and continued on with a college degree from Nichols State University. He enjoyed traveling, playing his guitar, fishing and being on the water.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leo John Dufrene, and a granddaughter.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. April 9 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Church will open to visitor at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Des Allemands.
In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.
