Darrin M. Christen, 50, a native of Luling and resident of Bayou Gauche passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021.
Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling on Monday, August 16th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. A celebration of Darrin’s life will be held after Mass in the Parish Life Center.
Darrin is survived by his wife, Faye Matherne Christen; parents, Barry and Evelyn Orgeron Christen; daughters, Abby Christen and Sadie Christen; sister, Kristy Christen Chategnier (Jean-Paul “J.P.”); sister-in-law, Renee Matherne; mother-in-law, Linda and Ron Naquin; father-in-law, Rene “Poncho” Matherne, Jr.; nieces, Kayla, Alyssa, Mia, Miley and Layla Chategnier and Mary Catherine Dufrene.
Darrin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vicknair and Hilda Orgeron; paternal grandparents, Louis and Vivian Christen.
Darrin was an avid sportsman and drag racer. He was a long time member of the National Hot Rod Association; racing in super street and super stock class divisions.
