Swingin’ Christmas

Over 200 parish residents made their way to the West Bank Bridge Park to help St. Charles Parish ring in the holiday season with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting.

The festivities at the event were topped off by the Cajun Dancers, who performed several dance numbers. The 34 dancers are all second grade students at Allemands Elementary and the group travels around the area to display their unique talents.

Another group of performers, the Norco Elementary Choir, sang a few select songs to entertain the audience until Parish President Albert Laque lit the Christmas tree.

Old St. Nick also made an appearance and arrived on time atop a fire truck before spending the rest of the evening greeting the children in attendance.

The event was made possible through the help of the St. Charles Rotary Club, the United Way of St. Charles and St. Charles Parish.
