St. Charles Sheriff’s Office investigating the homicide of Destrehan man

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting death of a Destrehan man found dead at around 5:09 p.m. today (March 16).

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a subject shot inside a residence in the  3700 block of Tara Drive, also in Destrehan.

They found Weston Keller, 25, laying on the floor with an apparent gunshot wound, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Medical personnel were unable to revive him and he was announced dead at the scene.

The suspect, who has not been identified, also was found in the residence and taken into custody.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Keller was involved in a verbal alternation with a 68-year-old male suspect who also resides at this residence.

The two apparently argued, and the suspect allegedly produced a handgun and fired a single shot that killed Keller.

The homicide is under investigation.
