Several held-over employees make over $80,000 a year
A majority of the St. Charles Parish employees that survived the recent governmental transition rake in the big bucks, with many of their salaries topping out at over $60,000 a year.
Right at the top of that list is Finance Director Lorrie Toups, who pulls in $102,804 a year. Toups is a certified public accountant that maintains all financial records for the parish. Under her supervision, the parish has won several top financial awards.
Timothy Vial, chief administrative officer, who performs duties as requested by the parish president, is right below Toups with a salary of $101,972. Waterworks Director Robert Brou, who oversees parish employees at the waterworks office and maintains water systems parishwide, also hauls in an impressive salary of $91,754.
Two other important governmental employees also make over $80,000 a year, Emergency Operations Director Tab Troxler, who oversees parish emergency operations and makes sure that the parish is equipped to respond to various types of disasters, brings home $88,296, while Economic Development Director Corey Faucheux gets $81,172.
The newly appointed employees’ salary information was being processed and wasn’t available for public record. Sandy Zimmer, personnel director for St. Charles Parish says this list reflects the current salaries of parish employees as of Jan. 11.
