Marlene Savoie had a request.
“She was like, ‘We’ve got to have that picture – make sure we get that picture,’” said Hope Savoie, Marlene’s daughter. “Okay, Mama, we’re going to make sure we get it.”
That they did. That promise was made after Hope delivered the news that Courtlyn Dozier – granddaughter of Hope and great granddaughter of Marlene – was pregnant. Marlene, 87, wanted a photo representing five generations of the family, and after the birth of Troy Dozier III on Dec. 17 that became a reality, as Marlene, Hope, Troy’s grandfather Cody Dupre, Courtlyn and Troy himself were captured for a moment together.
“My oldest granddaughter (Courtlyn) has been wanting a baby for forever,” said Hope. “She got married earlier in the year and she had said, ‘I’m getting pregnant as soon as I get married.’ And I said, ‘You better hope the good Lord’s working with you on that!’”

That news brought so many joyful emotions with it, but also a longtime desire to get that photo – the idea of capturing five generations of the family in a photo had long appealed to Marlene.
“We’d talk about it and she’d said, ‘I want to have five generations,’” said Hope. “I think that’s so awesome, I want to capture that. So, when she found that out, she said, ‘I’ve got to stay alive, I’ve got to stay alive to see that baby.’
“It was just a really great thing – and we were able to do it.”
It’s the continuation of what’s been a very exciting stretch for the family as a whole. The “Luling Triplets” Kenzie, Remi and Austyn Jordan were quarterfinalists in the 2025 Baby of the Year competition. The trio are the daughters of Hope’s son Drew Jordan and his fiancé Ashley Landry. The triplets were born prematurely in July of 2024. Landry and Jordan went to a routine 29-week doctor’s visit when Landry began having contractions. Landry was rushed into surgery for an emergency cesarean. After the triplets’ birth, Landry and Jordan waited nearly six hours to visit their triplets for the first time in their NICU rooms at Ochsner Baptist in New Orleans. They waited to hold their daughters for the first time: three days to hold Kenzie, seven days to hold Remi and 23 days to hold Austyn.
They waited 168 days – nearly six months – to have their daughters together again. After a difficult journey to begin their lives, the girls are doing quite well.
Jordan and Landry are to be wed in March. Meanwhile, Hope’s youngest daughter Taylor, is engaged as well and getting married next year.
“It’s been a really exciting time,” said Hope.
