Police are investigating the fatal Monday morning shooting of a 14-year-old boy in Hahnville and have arrested a 16-year-old in connection to the incident.
Just before 2:00 a.m., deputies responded to reports that a 14-year-old male juvenile had been shot in the 300 block of Smith Street in Hahnville. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, who was transported to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives have arrested a 16-year-old male, who is facing charges of second-degree homicide, obstruction of justice, and illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
