St. Charles United Methodist Church vacation bible school

For this year’s vacation bible school, the St. Charles United Methodist Church created their own curriculum based on Jesus’ ministry near the Sea of Galilee.

They transformed their fellowship hall into the town of Capernaum and dressed in biblical-era clothing.

Among the many interactive activities children participated in were making a prayer rug, connecting wood pieces without metal nails or tools, tasting lentil soup and pomegranates and smelling herbs and spices of the region.

Eighty attendees in kindergarten through fifth grade were immersed for the week-long program with 25 teenagers and 40 adults assisting them.
