Pre-K and kindergarten age potential Girl Scouts invited to movie on May 25

Girls entering or presently in kindergarten are invited to come watch the Disney movie, Moana, on Saturday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. John Parish/Norris Millet, Sr. Library Meeting Room, 2920 Highway 51, LaPlace.

Girls will get the opportunity to meet other girls, as their parents learn about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Adults interested in volunteering are encouraged to join. Girls who join the Girl Scouts on May 25 will receive a fun patch.

The annual Girl Scout membership fee is $25 for both girls and adults, but now through July 30, girls can join for $35 which covers membership through September 30, 2020.

Girl Scouts practice four key leadership skills through a variety of girl-led activities and experiences grounded in Girl Scouts’ program pillars of STEM, the outdoors, life skills, and entrepreneurship. These skills are: Goal setting (Go-getter); Problem solving (Innovator); Trying new things and decision making (Risk-taker); Leading others with empathy (Leader), which spell out G.I.R.L.
