Hahnville High seniors Collin Wenger and Amanda Wiggins were the recipients of the HHS Class of 1957 Anniversary Scholarships on May 1 at the school’s awards ceremony in Boutte.
These $2,500 scholarships are awarded to students who will enter the Freshman Class at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
One $2,500 scholarship is for a student entering the educational field, to ensure the development of teachers who will continue to promote the importance of education.
One $2,500 scholarship is for a student entering the engineering field, to provide a basis for continual technical contributions from Hahnville High School graduates.
The two annual recipients will apply their awards to their freshman year at UL-L.
The scholarships are in recognition of the excellent preparation that HHS teachers, coaches and principals provided for the class of 1957, and in recognition of the 1957 classmates who shared in that educational experience. These scholarships are awarded on an annual basis.
