Evans – Gros Engagement
Don Evans and the late Teresa Evans of Destrehan announce the engagement of their daughter Donna Ann Evans to Brad James Gros, son of Paula and Melvin Gros Jr. of Paradis.
The couple will exchange vows at 4 p.m. on Sept. 1 at Ormond Plantation.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Nancy and Edward Tweedy and Louise Evans.
She is a 2006 graduate of Destrehan High School in Destrehan and a sophomore at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mary Gros and Mary Jude Trahan.
He is a 1999 graduate of Hahnville High School.
Schirmer – Bevil Wedding
Melissa Diane Schirmer, of Shreveport, and Jonathon Michael Bevil, of Luling, were united in holy matrimony in a 6 p.m. ceremony, July 21, in Burkhalter Chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston.
The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Scott Wright, and the bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.
Melissa is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schirmer, of Shreveport. She is the grandaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Marion Kelly of Shreveport; Maj. John Schirmer, of San Antonio, Texas; and Anna Schirmer of Chester, Ill.
Jonathon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Henk, of Luling. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Henk, of Blanchard, La, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Weaver of Metarie.
Melissa is a 2002 graduate of Caddo Magnet High School, and graduated cum laude from Louisiana Tech University with a bachelor of science in biology. She served as an intern in the Tech Wesley Foundation this year.
Jonathon is a 2001 graduate of Hahnville High School and graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering technology. He also served as an intern in the Tech Wesley Foundation this year. Jonathon will enter Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky this fall.
Jonathon and Melissa honeymooned in Eureka Springs, Ark. They now reside in Kentucky.
Bergeron Anniversary
Willard and Marie Bergeron of Destrehan recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
The Bergerons, parishioners of St. Charles Borromeo Church, have 10 children, 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
