Estess named President of National Group of Certified Public Accountants

Local CPA John Estess, has recently been named President of the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants (PASBA).

Estess, a native of Plaquemines Parish, is an alumnus of Buras High School.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Southeastern Louisiana University and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1993.  After holding positions as assistant controller for a local bank and accounting/auditing positions with Plaquemines Parish Government, he opened his first CPA office in Belle Chasse in 2001 and a second office, Estess & Co. LLC, (previously Trevathan CPA Firm) in 2010 at 128 Lakewood Dr., Luling.

PASBA is one of the top accounting organizations nation-wide that aids Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), Public Accountants, and Enrolled Agents on how to support the accounting needs of small and medium businesses throughout the United States.

Founded in 1982, PASBA is presently composed of almost 200 accounting firm owners who meet nationally and communicate through online forums to improve their skills and accounting practices.  Through training and networking, PASBA members ensure that they can provide their services more efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service and satisfaction.  It also insures that members are up to date with all areas of accountancy including payroll, bookkeeping, management, software and technology.
