East Regional Library to host Harry Potter night

The St. Charles Parish Library is celebrating Harry Potter Book Night: Fantastic Beasts Thursday, February 1 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the East Regional Library, 160 W. Campus Dr. in Destrehan.

Harry Potter Book Night is a worldwide celebration in its fourth year, and the St. Charles Parish Library will host an unforgettable night themed around the fantastic beasts featured in the Harry Potter series.

Wizards, witches and Muggles of all ages will be treated to an evening of beastly games, crafts, and activities. Costumes and magical accessories are encouraged.

Special guests the Harry Hurst Wetland Watchers will feature some of our local “fantastic beasts.”

During Harry Potter Book Night the library will be full of the wonder of J.K. Rowling’s unforgettable stories and introducing the next generation of readers to the unparalleled magic of Harry Potter.

“We are so excited to be joining up with schools, libraries, bookshops and community centers around the world to celebrate the fourth Harry Potter Book Night,” Public Relations Librarian Lauren Pitz said. “A lot of Harry Potter fans work at the library and we love being able to share our enthusiasm about the series with everyone we can.”
