Book review: “The Time Keeper”

Reviewed by Kirolos Abdelmalek

The Time Keeper is a novel written by the author Mitch Albom.

This book takes place in a cave 6,000 years ago with the main character named Dor. This fictional book was written to show the importance of time and the pain it could bring, whether it be more time or less time.

A long time ago, Dor was a man who loved time. He practically breathed anything having to do with time. He had become so obsessed with it that he started trying to figure out a way for measuring time.

Unfortunately for him, his wife had become sick, and the thing he loved the most turned against him. Suddenly he started to hate time and wished he could stop it in its tracks. Although at first he had no intentions of helping build the tower of the gods and thought it would be a curse, he now seeks to climb it and meet god. God, however, knew the pains that Dor’s love of time would bring, and he had already foreseen the begging of humans for the alteration of time. So for Dor’s love of time, he was forced to spend 6,000 years imprisoned in a cave trying to find two people whom he could help understand the meaning of time.

As someone who has terrible time management, I personally loved this book. I would highly recommend it for anyone of any age who has ever had a problem with time and would rate this book a perfect 10/10.
