Terrell Wilson announces candidacy for at-large seat

After serving two terms as St. Charles Parish’s council representative for District 1, Terrell D. Wilson will seek the position of Councilman-At-Large, Division B in the Oct. 12 election.

Wilson said that serving the public as an elected official has been, and continues to be, his lifelong aspiration.

“I supported parish wide issues and represented all of my constituents very well during my eight years in office,” Wilson said. “Along with the administration and the council, I hope to continue constructing levees on both sides of the river in order to keep homeowners’ insurance affordable.”

He said the replacement of undersized culverts throughout his district contributed to the improvement of drainage systems. Also, he led an effort to resurface streets throughout the four communities that make up District 1 and supported major investments to enhance the parish’s recreation system.

“I have been honored with the experience gained while serving the residents of St. Charles Parish in my eight years as district councilman,” Wilson said. “If elected at-large, my focus will be to represent residents throughout the entire parish on both the east and west banks.

“It’s going to take dedication, energy and focus to maintain the high level of the quality of life we enjoy in St. Charles Parish.”
