Sophisticated Hospitality Group to offer lunch, bar fare, and event space in Destrehan

Executive Chef Natasha Clement and Managing Partner Buddy Boe of Sophisticated Hospitality Group opened Luling’s SANTOS restaurant only days before Hurricane Ida barreled through St. Charles Parish last year. On the heels of that restaurant’s one-year anniversary, Clement and Boe have announced their latest venture and concept – Cloud9.

Cloud9 Restaurant and Bar and the Silver Lining event space are set to open inside Cypress Lakes Country Club in October. The space, located at 10 Villere Drive in Destrehan, has most recently been occupied by Spitale’s Deli.

Boe said the group’s goal is to create a fun lunch and bar menu perfect for everyone, from the experienced golfer and the small business meeting to the weekly ladies’ lunch group.

Cloud9 will serve craft cocktails, sweet and spicy appetizers, traditional sandwiches with a twist, poolside snacks and more. With the recent expansion of the club’s gym space, Boe said Cloud9’s menu will feature protein-packed options. A pool menu will launch in May 2023.

“As the chef, my approach with Cloud9 opening is about ‘rebirth’ and dedication to reconnecting the people of the River Parishes with delicious, new, and fun food served in a quintessential southern atmosphere with a fresh new beautiful look,” Clement said.

Silver Lining, the name of the club’s private event space, will have the capacity to host groups as small as 20 in a private dining room, up to 125 reception style, and up to 200 with a complete buy out of the entire space.

With three kitchens to support catering operations, the catering wing of SHG – Sophisticated Southern Plates – will be available to feed guests at events.

“Despite the challenges facing restaurants around the globe, we feel strongly about the future of the region and look forward to continue providing opportunities for family, friends, and colleagues to make memories while enjoying a meal at one of our concepts,” Boe said.

The Sophisticated Hospitality Group was formed by Boe and Clement in 2020 with Boe’s family restaurant, Buddy B’s, and Clement’s private catering company, Sophisticated Southern Plates. In 2021, SHG launched SANTOS in Luling. Clement is a former contestant on MasterChef Season 6 and a contestant and winner of Food Network’s All Star Academy Season 2 under the tutelage of Chef Robert Irvine.
