Historical dinner play entertains & educates

Funny musical hits all the right notes

KENNER – A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum opens at the Rivertown Repertory Theatre in Kenner on Friday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. with a pre-performance buffet and will run through Jan. 28. Ladies Bible study back on the road

LULING – Join in on the reading fun on Thursdays at the West Branch Library, 105 Lakewood Drive. Infants and children up to 2 years of age are invited to read and sing along with “Lapsit” at 9:30 a.m., and preschool aged children can come in for reading and crafts during “Storytime” at 10:45 a.m.

LULING – The West St. Charles Ducks Unlimited Annual Banquet has been rescheduled for Jan. 18 at the VFW Hall, 140 Angus in Luling at 5 p.m.

High school golf
classic at Willowdale
LULING – The HHS Golf Team will host its 3rd Annual Golf Classic Jan. 27  at Willowdale Country Club beginning at noon. The teams will consist of a five-person scramble with an A player. The entry fee is $350.00 per team.

Spanish ship exhibit now showing
BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana State Archives announces the exhibit El Nuevo Constante now open through Jan. 31 at 8549 United Plaza Blvd. in Baton Rouge. The display includes items such as glassware and pewter found on the Spanish ship that sank off of the Louisiana coast in a 1766 hurricane. Information: Call Jacques Berry at 225-922-2880.
