LULING – The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for its fall Citizen’s Police Academy.
This free academy consists of nine sessions held one night a week on Wednesdays from Sept. 12-Nov. 7 at the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office in Luling.
The program involves classroom discussion, interactive instruction and a variety of scenarios. Participants are given the same information that police recruits and officers receive during in-service training.
To qualify for the academy you must:
-Be 21 years of age
-Provide information necessary for a criminal background check
-Work or live in St. Charles Parish
-Commit to attending all classes
