Max Lea Spiers, 77, peacefully entered into rest on Thursday, Aug. 30 at River Region Hospice. A native of McNeill, Miss., and a resident of Luling for 54 years, a veteran in the Korean Conflict with the U. S. Army and was with the Maintenance Department of Cytec/American Cyanamid for 40 years.
Louise Garrison Worrell died on Sept. 14, 2012 in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born on March 27, 1917 in Ryan, Okla., the only child of Samuel Young Garrison and Ruby Spain Garrison, both of whom were born in Indian Territory before Oklahoma statehood. Always proud of her Oklahoma roots, Louise was a graduate of Ryan High School. She completed secretarial training at Draughon’s Business University in Oklahoma City in 1936 and lived for a time in New Mexico before her marriage.
