LULING – David Pichon, a county agent with the LSU Ag Center’s Cooperative Extension Service in St. Charles Parish, has announced that the LSU AgCenter will present a Deer Food Plot seminar for deer hunters on Tuesday, Aug.11 at the VFW Hall on Angus Dr. in Luling. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. followed by a meal at 6:30 p.m., with the actual program beginning at 7 p.m.
The focus of the seminar will be on fall food plot plantings for whitetail deer as well as soil preparation, fertilization and deer diseases.
There will also be vendors with educational exhibits and wildlife products for sale. The 4-H Club will also have a display on the Shooting Sports Program.
Dr. Don Reed, Professor of Forestry and Wildlife with the LSU Ag Center’s Cooperative Extension Service, will present the program on “Food Plot Plantings”to attract and hold whitetail deer.
Donations of $5 will be accepted to help pay for the seminar costs.
