Live performance at Civil War exhibition

NEW ORLEANS – A live performance on Civil War History will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 from noon to 4 p.m.

In conjunction with The Historic New Orleans Collection’s current exhibition, “Occupy New Orleans! Voices from the Civil War,” living history characters Roscoe, Lee & Abadie will return to entertain visitors with songs, magic, theater and witty repartee during two more Saturday-afternoon visits. The troupe’s performances and interactions with the audience provide opportunities for children and parents alike to understand this important period in New Orleans’s history.

“Occupy New Orleans!” taps the experiences of ordinary men and women to illustrate daily life during one of the most monumental periods in American history. The display, which consists of more than 100 items, includes personal correspondence, journals and other materials from THNOC’s manuscript collections, as well as loans from other institutions.

The free exhibition is available to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., through March 9.
