LULING – St. Charles Parish will hold its 24th annual Independence Celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. at the West Bank Bridge Park on Thursday, July 4 beginning at 6 p.m.
The event will feature a performance by New Orleans band Category 6, two patriotic balloon-twisting clowns, mini-golf for the kids, food and other entertainment.
An opening ceremony featuring a flag raising by a local Boy Scout Troop, “The National Anthem” and the recitation of the parish’s Independence Day proclamation will begin at about 6 p.m. Category 6 is scheduled to begin at 6:20 p.m. A 20-minute fireworks extravaganza will begin at 9 p.m. The event will be held at 13825 River Road in Luling.
