Destrehan – Destrehan Plantation, Irish Cultural Museum of New Orleans and St. Charles Parish East Regional Library are holding a lecture series addressing history that has been overlooked in the classroom humanities. Beyond The History Books is open to the public and free of charge. All lectures take place in the large meeting room of the St. Charles Parish East Regional Library from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The presentation will be “A Magical Year: Grace King Letters of 1887” by Miki Pfeffer, PhD.
