Historic Louisiana film screening

NEW ORLEANS – The Historic New Orleans Collection celebrates Louisiana’s role on the silver screen with “From Cameo to Close-up: Louisiana in Film,” now on view at the Williams Research Center beginning Saturday, May 31 with a film screening at 10:30 a.m.

This summer THNOC will present a film series in conjunction with the exhibition one Saturday each month. To begin the film series the Historic New Orleans Collection will present “Jezebel” (1938), starring Bette Davis, Henry Fonda and George Brent.

THNOC senior curator/historian John Magill will provide commentary before each screening through the October event. Admission is free.

The Williams Research Center is located at 410 Chartres St. in New Orleans.
