DESTREHAN – Author George Gurtner and photographer Frank H. Methe will be on hand at the German Coast Farmers’ Market at Ormond Plantation on River Road in Destrehan on Saturday, Oct. 24 to sign their book, “Historic Churches of Old New Orleans,” which captures in words and magnificent color photos, the incredible history of 50 of the oldest Catholic Churches in New Orleans.
All proceeds from the sale will go to restore the historically significant St. Alphonsus Church in the Irish Channel of New Orleans.
The book signing will begin at market’s opening at 8 a.m. and will continue until closing at noon.
