Annual Boy Scouts fundraiser

ST. ROSE – The Pelican District of the Boy Scouts of America Southeast Louisiana Council is holding their annual community fundraiser on Tuesday, May 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Derick Harjo, an Eagle Scout from St. Rose who is preparing to enter to West Point will speak. Attendees will also get a chance to applaud Aiden Grundmeyer, a Cub Scout from Destrehan, who saved his brother’s life and earned the National Honor Award.

The Boy Scout Honor Band will perform.

Individuals and companies can support the local Boy Scouts at $250 and up, with higher level donors getting sponsor recognition. The event is the largest annual community fundraiser for local Boy Scouts and is held to support the approximately 2,800 Scouts in 85 packs, troops, explorer posts, venture crews and in-school groups in St. John, St. Charles and Jefferson parishes. The organization’s goal is to raise $30,000.

The event will be held at G. Smith Motorsports located at10567 Airline Highway in St. Rose.
