Hahnville received a potentially major boost to its offense as former Vandebilt Catholic quarterback Andrew Robison has transferred to Hahnville for the upcoming school year.
Robison (6-foot, 194 lbs.) passed for 2,700 yards and 34 scores as a junior for the Terriers last season. He is reportedly transferring after the contract of his father, Vandebilt Catholic’s offensive coordinator and also a basketball coach at the school, was not renewed.
The strong armed passer has been tabbed a 3-star recruit for Rivals.com and the 6-foot, 194 pound quarterback is considered among the state’s most accurate passers. He has been All-State honorable mention in each of the past two seasons.
He has been offered by Nicholls State and Northwestern State, but has made unofficial recruiting visits to several schools including LSU, Tulane, Louisiana-Lafayette and Ole Miss.
The Tigers went through the spring with Andrew Naquin as the team’s starting passer. Naquin, who will be a sophomore, helped lead Hahnville to a strong spring game performance. Robison will be a senior in the upcoming season.
Robison and his family moved to Houma from Tennessee when the quarterback’s father was named an assistant coach with Vandebilt Catholic in 2015.
Hahnville is looking to build on a 2017 season that saw the Tigers reach the Class 5A state championship game for the first time since 2003.
