After an opening kickoff that saw Rickey Preston return the ball 94-yards for a touchdown, the Tigers maintained a firm grip on the lead that was threatened predominantly by their own mistakes.

By the end of the first half, Perrin was alternating offensive drives with junior Mike Neal. Neal, the former starter, played for the first time since breaking his collarbone against Landry-Walker in week three. Neal had one passing touchdown as well as a fumble on a bad snap.

In addition to his two touchdown passes, including a long pass to Brandon Singleton, Austin Perrin threw one interception.

An illegal block in the back plus a personal foul pulled what would have been a 21-yard touchdown rush by Devonte’ Cravin late in the 1st quarter.

Throughout the game, the Hahnville defense pressured the Trojan quarterback into a number of mistakes. In one drive late in the 1st quarter, the Trojans nearly had a pass intercepted. That play was immediately followed by a fumble recovered by Hahville’s Drew Favre. On the next Trojan drive, Jacob Plache’ picked off a Trojan pass.

To win on offense, the Tigers had to use a balanced game, with two touchdowns in the air, one on the ground and one field goal. The defense also came up with a touchdown, after defensive lineman Frederick Brown recovered a fumbled Trojan ball in the endzone.

On one drive, the Tiger’s were held to a short field goal.

Central Lafourche was held two touchdowns. The two-point conversion attempt on the second touchdown was stopped with a brutal tackle just short of the goal line by last week’s defensive player of the week, Jai Knight.

The win advances Hahnville to 8-3 on the season, and 4-2 within the division. Hahnville plays its last game of the regular season next Friday at South Lafourche.
