4 Lady Tigers land on coaches’ All-State team

Four Hahnville High School softball players were selected to the coaches’ Class 5A All-State team.

Lauren Simar and Lauren Beadle were named by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association as Class 5A first team All-State selections last week and the two were also chosen by the Class 5A coaches. Joining Simar and Beadle on the coaches’ All-State team are Lady Tigers Megan Bush and Taylor Hogan.

Bush, a senior first baseman, finished the season with a .365 batting average while hitting two home runs and 10 doubles. She also drove in 26 runs.

Hogan, a junior center fielder, recorded 23 RBIs and hit four home runs. Hogan also scored 37 runs and finished the year with a .357 batting average.

Beadle, a sophomore who starred at pitcher, won 29 games for the Lady Tigers and struck out 173 batters in 205 innings. Her ERA was 1.93.

Simar, a junior third baseman, led the Lady Tigers in every major offensive category. She finished with a .465 batting average while knocking in 39 runs and scoring 37 times. She hit seven home runs, had three triples and recorded 15 doubles during the season.
