The 12U Canes softball team won the USSSA World Series, which was held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando. The team won both pool games and seven out of eight bracket games.
They defeated teams from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Pennsylvania to advance to the championship. In the finals, the Canes beat Alabama 9-1 and 9-0 to win the championship. The final game was broadcasts live on ESPN3 and each player will receive a USSSA World Series championship ring by Jostens.
