Make it 15 in a row for the Hahnville Tigers.

Hahnville moved to 23-6 on the season Tuesday with an 8-0 win over Thibodaux, the Tigers remaining unbeaten in District 8-5A with the win and setting up a potential district championship clash today with fellow a district unbeaten, rival Destrehan.

The Tigers will travel to Destrehan Tuesday in the district game between the teams before a non-district Thursday rematch (as 8-5A only plays one round of district). Both games are set for 4 p.m.

Hahnville’s Bennett Naquin blasted a three-run home run in the second inning at Thibodaux to set the tone for his team. Hahnville led 3-0 until the fifth inning when it extended its lead to 5-0, following up with one run in the sixth and two to close scoring in the seventh.

Naquin went 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs. Luke Heiden was 2-for-2 with a double and RBI. Jaxon Hanks scored two runs and went 1-for-3. Kaleb Guarisco nabbed three of Hahnville’s 10 stolen bases – Brayden Fontenot, Carson Revere, Eli Landry, Hanks, Kaleb Ducote, Landen Teague and Rylon Chaney also represented in that total.

Koa Romero was back on the mound and it was a dominant start. He went six one-hit innings, striking out 10 against just one walk. Ja’Vonte Gray pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

The game followed up a similarly dominant district win over East St. John, a 16-0 victory highlighted by Fontenot and Naquin at the plate. Fontenot homered and went 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs. Naquin doubled and tripled, scoring twice and driving in a run. Parker Mosley earned the win, going three perfect innings and striking out six – that was the complete game as HHS won in three by the 15-run rule.

The Tigers defeated Parkview Baptist twice in a home-and-home series, winning each game by an identical 3-1 score.

Hahnville trailed 1-0 in the fourth inning of game one at HHS. Naquin’s two-run single put the Tigers ahead 2-1. Romero extended that lead to 3-1 in the fifth with an RBI single of his own.

That was enough for Romero and Teague on the mound. Like the Thibodaux game, Romero earned 10 strikeouts. He went five scoreless innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits and a walk. Teague pitched two innings of scoreless relief, striking out three and allowing two hits.

A day later, it was a similar scenario. Parkview took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth, but Hahnville rallied with three runs in the top of the sixth.

Those Tiger runs came courtesy of Teague’s bat – a three-run blast supplied the runs needed for another HHS win.

Matt Plaisance earned the win for Hahnville, going the complete game and throwing a one-hitter. He struck out five, allowing one earned run while walking two.
