Offense
Destrehan
Destrehan junior running back Will Matthews proved that he is one of the best players in the state by rushing for 182 yards and a touchdown in his team’s playoff win over Ruston.
Hahnville
HHS senior Tyler Lamers has been one of the team’s best blockers on the edge this season, but made a spectacular catch for 38 yards in his team’s playoff loss to Barbe.
Defense
Destrehan
In back-to-back playoff games, the Destrehan defense has led the charge for the Wildcats. The group hasn’t allowed a touchdown in two-straight games. Against Ruston, the defense only gave up 216 yards.
Hahnville
Hahnville senior cornerback Jamal Smith shined in the postseason and had 12 tackles and two pass break ups in Hahnville’s season-ending loss to Barbe.
