Hahnville Lady Tigers salute soccer seniors

This year’s senior class is on the ‘ball’ with record wins

On Friday, Jan. 18 the Hahnville High School Lady Tigers soccer team recognized their senior players before their district game against East St. John High School. This year’s senior class has earned an overall record of 57 wins, 29 losses and 7 ties in total games played.

And in their district, these seniors have been awarded 27 wins as opposed to 7 loses, earning two district championships and three playoff berths during their freshman, sophomore and junior seasons.

This extraordinary group of girls has also had numerous players earn All-District, All-River Parish, All-Metro and All-State honors.

SAMANTHA MAY

Samantha May has played soccer for six years and has played HHS Lady Tiger Soccer for four.

During that time she has been named to All-State Freshman second team, All-District Honorable Mention team – one year, All-District first team – one year and All-District second team – one year. She’s also been the HHS Lady Tigers offensive captain her junior and senior years.

In addition to soccer, she has been a member of Beta Club for 4 years, National Honor Society – 3 years; Spanish National Honor Society – 2 years; Cross Country Team – two years, track team – 1 year, LEAP Club – 2 years and Student Council – 4 years.

Samantha, the daughter of Karen and Klaus May, plans to attend Louisiana State University majoring in Engineering.

CARLY QUEEN

Carly Queen has played soccer for 11 years and has been a member of the HHS girls soccer team for 4 years where she has lettered for three years.

During that time she has been named to All-District Honorable Mention team – 1 year. Carly was also the HHS Lady Tigers junior varsity captain her last school year.

In addition to soccer, she has been a member of the HHS Marching Band for 4 years, Science Olympiad – 2 years; Beta Club and Interact Club – 2 years. She also attended Louisiana Girls State in 2007.

Carly, the daughter of Jill and Ted Queen, plans to attend Louisiana Tech University majoring in Business Management & Entrepreneurship.

TARA MINCE

Tara Mince has played soccer for 9 years and has been a member of the HHS Lady Tigers’soccer team for 4 years where she has lettered her freshman through junior years.

During that time she has been named to All-District first team – 1 year. She’s also been one of the HHS Lady Tigers Captains for her senior year.

Tara, who is the daughter of Bill and Jilane Mince, plans to attend college for Radiation Therapy.

ASHLEY EUSEA

Ashley Eusea has played soccer for 12 years and has played for the HHS Lady Tigers’ soccer team for 4 years.

During that time she has been named to All -tate Freshman first team, All-State first team and was River Parish Player of the Future during her freshman year.

Ashley also has been named to the All-District first team – 3 years, All-District Offensive MVP – 2 years, All-River Parish team – 3 years, All-Metro team – 1 year and was River Parishes Most Outstanding Player for 2 years.

Ashley has been an athletic trainer for the HHS football team and a member of the Beta Club for 3 years. She was named the 2007-08 HHS Girls Wendy’s High School Heisman recipient.

Ashley is the daughter of Rachel and Duane Eusea, plans to attend SLU majoring in Athletic Training and Physical Therapy.

MAEGAN WATSON

Maegan Watson has played soccer for 11 years and has been a member of the HHS Lady Tigers’ Soccer Team for 4 years where she lettered her freshman through junior years.

In addition to soccer, she has been a member of Beta Club for 4 years, National Honor Society – 3 years, Spanish National Honor Society – 2 years, Interact – 3 years, Science Olympiad – 2 years, SDS – 1 year and the HHS Band – 4 years. Maegan, who is the daughter of Christy and Zeke Watson, plans to attend Louisiana Tech University majoring in Animal Science/Pre-vet.

JESSICA LAULAND

Jessica Lauland has played soccer for 10 years and has played for the HHS Lady Tigers’ soccer team for 4 years where she lettered her freshman through junior years.

During that time she has been named to All-State Freshman first team, All-District Honorable Mention team – 1 year, and All-District Second team – 2 years. She’s also been the HHS Lady Tigers Captain her junior and senior years.

In addition to soccer, she has been a member of the HHS Band for 4 years, Interact – 2 years; Science Olympiad – 2 years; Beta Club and National Honor Society for 4 years and Spanish National Honor Society for 2 years.

Jessica, who is the daughter of Cindy and Charles Lauland, plans to attend Louisiana Tech University then LSU for vet School.

PAIGE O’MALLEY

Paige O’Malley has played soccer for 7 years and a member of the HHS Lady Tigers’ soccer team for 4 years where she has lettered her freshman through junior years.

In addition to soccer she has been a member of the HHS Choir for 4 years, Ensemble – 4 years, Honor Choir – 4 years, Drama – 4 years and Beta club. She also lettered for 2 years as the Cross Country team manager.

Paige, who is the daughter of Tainia and Pat O’Malley, plans to attend Louisiana State University for General Studies.

MALLORY WATSON

Mallory Watson has played soccer for 11 years and a member of the HHS Lady Tigers’ soccer team for 4 years where she lettered her freshman through junior years.

In addition to soccer, she has been a member of Beta Club for 4 years, National Honor Society, 3 years, Spanish National Honor Society – 2 years, Interact – 3 years, Science Olympiad – 2 years, and the HHS Band 4 years. Mallory, who is the daughter of Christy and Zeke Watson, plans to attend Louisiana Tech University majoring in Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine.
